Virtual Launch Event

CGAACo is grateful to Sekou Murray and Reed Film Collective for producing the videos.

On April 22, 2026, Collective Giving of Anne Arundel County officially introduced our giving circle to the community during our Virtual Launch Event. This gathering brought together neighbors, nonprofit partners, community leaders, and supporters to share the story behind CGAACo, explain the giving circle model, and invite more people to be part of a practical, hopeful, and community-led approach to philanthropy.

During the event, Co-Chairs Vincent Moulden and Michelle Hellstern shared how CGAACo began as a simple but powerful idea: that collective generosity belongs to everyone. The presentation walked attendees through the mission of the giving circle, the meaning behind the CGAACo logo, our partnership with the Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County, and the urgent needs facing ALICE households across the county. Speakers also discussed how pooled giving can support local nonprofits that are able to respond quickly and compassionately when families face emergencies that do not fit neatly into traditional funding timelines.

CGAACo is designed to help fill the gaps within the gaps by providing grants to local nonprofits that meet urgent needs such as emergency assistance, transportation access, housing and utility stability, and childcare and family support. The launch also highlighted how community members can become part of the circle through membership, shared decision-making, and collective action.

The virtual launch was just the beginning. As our circle continues to grow, we invite you to watch the recording, review the presentation, and consider joining us as we build a stronger, more connected Anne Arundel County.
