Grants

Eligibility and Criteria

Please stay tuned for the opening date of our application.

CGAACo will accept applications from nonprofit organizations based in Anne Arundel County. Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofits or have a 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor, and must provide services that directly address the everyday barriers that keep individuals and families from moving forward.

These programs fill the gaps within the gaps — small, urgent needs that traditional funding streams often overlook. Examples include:

  • Utility assistance

  • Rental support for unexpected shortfalls

  • Car repair funds to keep people working

  • Emergency childcare assistance

  • Support for unexpected fees (application fees, testing fees, minor medical costs, etc.)

These interventions matter. Something as small as a $250 car repair can lead to missed shifts, job loss, and long-term instability for ALICE households.

Recognizing that small nonprofits play a major role in serving Anne Arundel County’s most underserved communities, priority will be given to organizations with annual operating budgets under $1 million.

To be considered for funding, organizations must:

  • Hold 501(c)(3) status or have a fiscal sponsor that is a 501(c)(3)

  • Be based in Anne Arundel County

  • Have been operating for at least two years

  • Maintain an annual operating budget under $1 million

  • Demonstrate programs that meet human needs with dignity and center the beneficiary’s experience

  • Show a commitment to equity and inclusion within their leadership (board and staff)

  • Align with CGAACo’s strategic priorities

  • Preferably collaborate or partner with other organizations
