Our giving circle is rooted in the idea that real change happens when the community guides the priorities, participates in decision-making, and directly benefits from the resources we raise.
This model shifts power toward the people most affected by the issues. It ensures that our work is grounded in equity, representation, and shared leadership, not donor preference or institutional systems alone.

Every member, regardless of giving level, plays an equal role in strengthening our community. That is why our tiers range from $100 to $2,500 — intentionally designed to welcome people from a wide range of income levels, lived experiences, and perspectives. Your annual contribution is meaningful because you are meaningful, not because of the amount you give.
Membership starts from the time you make your contribution and lasts one year. When you join, your membership will allow you to vote during the grantmaking process. Contributions are tax-deductible.

To keep our circle accessible and community-focused gifts under $300 go entirely to direct community impact. Gifts of $500 and above include a small portion that supports the operations of the fund, ensuring we remain sustainable, responsive, and able to meet urgent needs quickly. No matter your level, you are helping fill the gaps within the gaps — the overlooked, everyday needs that can determine whether a neighbor moves forward or falls behind.
Where Your
Contribution Goes
Membership begins the moment you make your contribution and lasts for one year. During that time, you are part of a collective effort that fills the gaps within the gaps by funding urgent, everyday needs that traditional philanthropy often overlooks. Every member, regardless of contribution level, has an equal voice. You will participate in reviewing community needs, discussing funding opportunities, and voting on which nonprofit programs receive support. Your lived experience and perspective are part of our collective decision-making power. All contributions are fully tax-deductible through the Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County.
